Jennie Lou has been the Llano County Democratic Chair for 10 years. She is a member of the Texas County Chairs Association and was on the Executive Board. In 2014 she was elected Senate District 24 Committeewoman where she served one term and also sat on the Rural Subcommittee, Urban County Subcommittee and Legislative Committees. She was a national delegate to the DNC in 2008 and 2016.
While in college she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority and served as Fall and Spring Social Chair. Jennie Lou was a member of Block and Bridle, holding the offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Reporter and Ham Sales Chairman; member of Future Farmers of America, holding the offices of Parliamentarian, Treasurer and Ag Banquet Chairman; member of the SWTSU Rodeo Association, holding the offices of Team Secretary, Secretary, and Vice-President; and a member of the Texas Physical Education Recreation and Dance [TPERD] Club.
Since college Jennie Lou has coached and taught in public schools for 11 years. After leaving the classroom she worked for Horace Mann to help teachers with their insurance and retirement plans. Never far from education, Jennie Lou transitioned into Educational Curriculum Sales. She currently is a USA Certified Head Swim Coach.
